We LOVED LOVED LOVED our time with hosts Deb and Mike at Le Pont de la Pierre. Their beautiful stone farmhouse is infused with both the beauty of the Normandy countryside and the somber yet inspiring history of the days and weeks following D-Day. The Women of Valour private museum, which is on-site, is a remarkable place and not to be missed.

Words cannot adequately describe how warm and welcoming Mike and Deb were to my immediate and extended family! They provided us so much more than a delicious breakfast and a roof over our heads. They went above and beyond in every way. As tour guides through Normandy and through The Women of Valour Museum, shuttles to and from train stations and functions, and providing the perfect environment and company for some much needed down time. I am sure that my family will visit this wonderful vintage bed and breakfast again and again!

We stayed in the family room at Le Pont de la Pierre vintage B&B while travelling from Lille to Rennes and it was a good decision to stay there. It is a wonderful refuge next to the Elle river.|Hosts Deborah and Mike have a sincere passion for the 1930s and 1940s, and they have put in a lot of effort to transform the former farmhouse to a beautifully decorated B&B where you can indulge yourself in a warm nostalgic atmosphere, with great personal care by the couple. The family room is a piece of art, just like the reception hall and breakfast room. |Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, eggs prepared according to personal wishes.|Deborah and Mike have two sweet dogs and take care of cats that were left in misery by others, demonstrating the couple’s true kindheartedness. Our girls just loved it there.|Deborah is setting up a museum on the role of women in WWII and as a professional tour guide Mike knows everything about that era, including the dramatic events that took place around the Elle bridge. He can be hired for personal tours around the Normandy beaches, which is a great thing to do when staying a few nights.|Strongly recommended!

A wonderful B&B with loads of charm - its like stepping back into time. The owners have restored an old Norman farmhouse into a 1940's Art Deco masterpiece, every little detail is taken into account. And as this is Normandy they have lots of WW2 mementos dedicated to the American Infantry Division (29th) that fought their way from Omaha beach to St. Lo. They have even helped setup a memorial to the men who lost their lives trying to take the bridge at their farm. The memorial is on the other side of the bridge from the house. The farm is nestled in the Normandy countryside and the little River Elle runs along the edge of the farm. Its a great place to take walks and it is well situated to see all of the different D-Day landing beaches as it is about mid way between where the Americans landed to the west (Utah & Omaha) and where the British and Canadians landed to the east - (Gold, Juno and Sword). I was traveling with my dog so I took the camping option in their pasture (see pictures below). But I had breakfast in the house and they showed me around the rooms - which are just incredibly decorated with 29th Division mementos and art deco items. I cant say enough on how hospitable and friendly the owners are - just great. 5 stars for sure - thanks !

I had a great stay at the Pont de la Pierre B&B. I actually took the camping option in the field behind the house. I was visiting Normandy to follow the trail that my Uncle's US Army unit took during the Battle of Normandy in World War Two. I could not have found a better place to stay. I had my dog with me and the owners were kind enough to let me camp out in the field next to the house. I had access to the restroom / shower that is located facing the field as well as electricity line that ran to my campsite. The camping area faces onto the small stream (River L'Elle which is in US terms a shallow creek) with a small waterfall at one end of the field and a stone bridge at the other (Stone bridge is Pont de la Pierre in French). The owners have done an incredibly detailed restoration of the house to 1940's / Art Deco style. The garden is also beautifully cared for with many summer flowers and a very pleasant place to have stroll or a drink. The owners are also both passionate about the history of the War Era and can provide lots of information about the local area as well as the Battle of Normandy. I took a day tour option with Mike and he was very helpful in filling in many details on the battles that took place nearby.
